It's not Sayounara - but a see you

Post  -Shiro- on Sun Nov 27, 2011 4:39 pm

    Hi there Smile
I know I've made myself rare lately due to personal/family matters. So some might even know me. I noticed a lot of people I don't remember. But there are also a lot of good friends still lingering around, it seems.

I have been keeping track of this group's being even though I didn't find time to work. And I want to praise you. Especially those who kept around, dealt with the always-changing staff constellations and release schedules. I am really proud of you Smile Some of you were totally beginners. Some were already rather experienced. Still, it seems like in the period I've been active and inactive in this group, there has been a lot of progress. Personal-wise. I am not talking about the quality of chapters but what everybody thinks of themselves. You started to trust more in your abilities. You learned. You hated me for all the criticising, maybe XD and here we are. Or rather, I am. I had a good time, talking to a lot of people. Stressing myself out for the sake of our readers and the group. Having clashs about opinions with some people but never any failing out. Yeah, and now... here I am.

And yes, this is a 'see you'. I didn't join this group because I wanted to work in a scanlation group. I wanted to help. To me, it's really important to help new groups get stable, to help build them up. And that's what I did. Maybe we had some problems in the beginning but I guess the group is running. So seeing you having steady releases even when I ain't here to coordinate, makes me proud. Well, also it gives me the feeling of being 'not needed' which is kinda sad - but I am way too proud of you guys/girls to really care about this. I have the feeling that I can rely on you - to carry on this group. I am not needed anymore to keep things together. You learned how to do that. And that's why I will leave. Out there are far too many groups who struggle in the beginning and fail. But to share happiness in the online world of manga reading, those groups, their ambitions and naive beliefs are needed. I feel as if it's my duty to at least give some guiding to those. That's why I wouldn't feel okay working for a group which can organize itself.
The reason I first joined, was because somebody needed help. Annex. And looking back, while now seeing what became of that simple idea, it's amazing.
It's not me that is amazing but all of you.
Those who keep working to bring happiness to the readers.
    Keep that spirit up, okay?

And I will always be available in case something goes wrong or help is needed urgently. You got my mail, my mangafox account and I also look at the forum from time to time. Only favor I'll ask, don't strip me of my staff membership. Otherwise I won't be able to keep track of the group anymore.

Maybe we'll see each other again in the future. Some time, somewhere. For now, I intend to keep out of too much work. Still have a bit of family matters going on on my side. I just wanted to make this clear. I didn't plan to leave for good that fast. But when I noticed how well the group is doing...
I felt like 'yeah, they can do fine without me'.

So ~ see you. It's not sayounara. I will always devote myself to scanlation.
    That's why.. there ain't a good bye.

Awe man I am gonna miss you. But things have changed some since you were gone. I started typesetting and I actually did some hands on qc work. My first project that I did hands on qc work is string dolls you'll see once I released it. I plan on trying to typeset the second chapter. Things are kinda slow but we're trying to hang in their some members I haven't heard from and some newbies joined But I appreciate everyone that's joined. Having you leave left me with a lot of responsibility but I am still learning how to be a good leader. And I am not as dependent as I was b4 so I appreciate your help. I feel bad that you're leaving though.

    Really?
But I got the impression that you have things under control.
I don't want to seem hearless or anything, there Annex. I just noticed how much this group has become independent of me. Do you remember when I was on vacation? You weren't able to bring out even one chapter because everything went nuts and people went MIA and so on.
Seeing how you released three chapters kinda puts me at ease. So this decision wasn't as hard to make for me as I first supposed it would be.

Even if you now complain, I see a lot of difference to before. You're a way better admin now. And it's not like you need me to do all the odd jobs anymore. I enjoyed helping out - and I would still do. But I just feel that you no longer need me. This makes me a bit sad but also happy. Really, I am happy for the group. Because a group should not only depend on one person. In the beginning, it often does. And I accepted that role as the pillar which held everything together by my free will. Never regretted it. Somebody gotta do it.

I am sorry if you feel kind of surprised, in a bad way, probably. I wondered whether I should talk to you first - but then I realised that things shouldn't be done behind the staff's back. So I posted it here, noticeable for everyone.

Yeah no problem. I understand how you feel. I'm not surprised in a bad way. It just would have been nice to have you as an official member with me not having you do odd jobs anymore lol. I also remember the that time when you went on vacation and I didn't release anything, I am trying to stay on top of things this time around. Thanks again though. I really appreciated your help.

Sniff Sniff... Take care, Shiro. Thanks for everything. It's really sad to see you leaving, but at least you promised to be hovering somewhere. Smile

Take care and hope everything will turn out fine with real life.
