XD Okay, here I go:
Ai-Ren
Akagi (drawings are a bit lacking but overall was okay, if you like Gamblefish, this is something for you)
Alive - the final evolution (good drawings, story is okay, characters are okay)
Bambino (there's also a live action, drawings are so-so, characters are intriguing)
Kami no Shizuku (good story, drawings are good too in comparison to others in this genre - there's also a live action)
Brave 10
Cesare ( though it's not the manga that's good, rather the historical connections. If you don't like Italy's history, that's probably not much of a read for you)
Darker than black
Samurai Deeper Kyo (and Rurouni Kenshin, same class as Gamaran - there's also Samurai Champloo but there I suggest the anime, not the manga)
Densha Otoko (romance, mind you, but it's something you at least should know as it became quite famous since it's based on a real story - there's also a book and a live action)
Elfen Lied (more ecchi than the others though)
Forget-me-not (drawing style is truly beautiful for its time. One of Tsuruta's works. The overall idea is not that intriguing but the drawing style is worth the read.)
Hi no Kagutsuchi
I am a hero (not sure about this one. Didn't like it much but could be something for you)
Ikigami
Those should keep you happy for now^^
If you liked Akumetsu, you should definitely try out: Death Note, Lost+Brain and maybe E.D.D.
